We reviewed the Constitution from a 30,000 view. Summary: the Constitution gives the majority of the power to the legislature which is closest to the people and can be reviewed and replaced every two years. Then the Executive branch which gives the people the power to review and replace the President every four years. The Judicial branch should be the weakest of the branches because we do not directly elect the Justices and we cannot easily review and replace them should they become corrupt. Unfortunately it seems to be in reverse order today. The Judicial branch, starting with Marbury vs. Madison case, has progressively become a far more powerful and activist court than the Founding Fathers envisioned. The President, especially through the power of Executive Orders and the Administrative State is again more powerful than the Founding Fathers envisioned. And unfortunately, the Legislative Branch has ceded the majority of its power and is no longer a deliberative body but instead a tool of the rich and powerful to enact their desires rather than the wishes of the people.

One of our class members shared an article that shares why five House Republicans voted AGAINST the Parents Bill of Rights. Who would vote against something that strengthens the power of parents? These Legislators make a compelling argument.

One resource we discussed was The President Makers. It is a great book. You can also go to YouTube and search "Constitution Alive" to view the videos from class. Or you can select the Courses menu option at the top of this page and find the Constitution Alive! course option.

I have a website where you can find many different organizations that need your help and support so when you ask "What Can I Do?" this site is a place where you can quickly and easily find many quality places that need your help. If you have additional places that you think should be added to this list, please share with me at cheryl@thefifthprinciple.coop and I will add it to the list. And of course, if you would like to know more about The Fifth Principle Cooperative effort I am developing, you can go to this Rumble video to learn more about it. I also have other videos on Rumble where you can learn more about various topics related to the Constitution and my educational pursuits at The Fifth Principle.

And I must shamelessly share my Monument to Our Forefathers tour over Memorial Day weekend. Until next week!

Thank you all who attended our Constitution Alive! class last night. Your attendance is valued and appreciated. I also appreciate those who stay on to contribute to our discussions. It is so important to not only learn this information but to be able to articulate its value and importance to others. We are the mouth piece for freedom throughout our country. Let freedom ring in our hearts and in our conversations! There was mention of a television British TV Series (Margaret Thatcher allowed filming in Brit Govt Buildings she liked it so well) called: "Yes, Minister" and then 'Yes, Prime Minister" that followed it. Incredibly wise, while being funny. There was also mention of a site called Brighteon. I encourage you all to share any resources you find useful and inspirational in your efforts to promote the cause of liberty.

Thank you all who attended the session last night. Your contributions were awesome and I look forward to even more insights from you all. Due to the number of people, and the fact that several people have reached out to share their thoughts via email, I am concerned that not everyone is getting a chance to share their voice during class. To accommodate everyone's voice I have installed a timer in Zoom. I plan to have those who want to share their thoughts raise their digital hand and I will do my best to call on everyone, in order. Once you unmute and start to share your comments you will see a timer with a two minute counter. This is an experiment that I hope to refine throughout the term of the class. As we get in to future sessions, the topics get more complex and thus the two minute time limit may not be enough. I will try to keep an eye on that. I also encourage you to raise your hand again if you have additional comments. Some people are content to simply listen and that is fine also. I will also be limited to two minutes as I have a tendency to get carried away. The things we are learning bring out the passion in people and it is rare to find a place where we can share our frustrations and potential insights and solutions with like minded people. I do not want to stifle anyone's voice but on the flip side, I want to make sure everyone has a voice. See, I am rambling again myself! Enough of this -- until next week! I hope you will also use this forum to share your ideas and resources. There are no limits here, except of course to be respectful and hopeful!
